The Visual Literacy course exposes students to the current visual concepts and techniques in arts, photography, cinema, product design and architecture to claim a critical stance through which they can engage in contemporary visual culture. The reality of our discipline is that we work through collective mediums and conventions of drawings, models, images, simulations, texts, prototypes and buildings to visualize architectural concepts. This course will introduce the AAD students to contemporary topics of visualization in arts, photography, cinema and architecture. They will explore multiple mediums of representation to help them gain the vital visual literacy to excel in the program.
